Founded in 1992, AC Propulsion develops electric vehicle technology and provides products and engineering services to automotive clients throughout the world. ACP provided the original EV drive train and battery management technology to Tesla and to BMW in its original electric Mini.
Grand Avenue Capital was engaged by the shareholders of AC Propulsion and its Chinese affiliate, e-Motor, in Beijing, to recapitalize the company providing sufficient equity to fund its growth plans. Subsequently, Grand Avenue was engaged to sell the company at the direction of the major shareholder.
Grand Avenue Capital was successful in bringing a major Tier 1 publicly traded automotive supplier headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany to bid for the company.
