ADVISER TO CHOCTÁL INC.
Grand Avenue Capital was engaged by the shareholders of Choctál, Inc. to sell the Company to maximize shareholder value. Choctál produces the only single-origin vanilla and chocolate, ultra-premium ice cream on the market. Choctál’s products have been sold in over 450 stores spanning California, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, New York, and several states in the Southeast. Choctál’s products have received critical acclaim from food reviewers and favorable commentaries have appeared in The New York Times, the Wine Spectator, and on the Food Channel.
Grand Avenue initially sought an equity partner to fund the spectacular growth the Company experienced, ultimately holding discussions with a number of strategic candidates and consumer-brand focused private equity groups. Ultimately, the Company was sold to an industry leader Sheer Bliss Ice Cream, also a strong provider of gourmet ice cream brands nationwide.
Grand Avenue managed this transaction, providing valuation and other financial advisory services to the board of Choctál, managed the world-wide search for investors (including strategic and financial), and negotiated the ultimate transaction between the parties.
